A video has surfaced online of Minister of Communications Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams dancing outside her luxury car while music blares from the speakers.
The car appears to be new without licence plates fitted.
South Africans had mixed reactions to the minister, a lot of them negative. Many social media commentators feel that now was nnot the time to be dancing as the country goes through one of its greatest challenges.
Briefly.co.za learned that many South Africans were not impressed and they shared how they felt online.
@patrick01213: "Politicians are self-serving people guys and they all the same, don't be fooled by the few standing on the side passing insults as if they will do better - let's hold them to account without being biased."
@Sanele_Langazan: "Cutting-edge on SABC1. Yet such life in opulence."
@okaMbulawa: "Once suspended, go get yourself a German beast and flaunt it. Not very smart kodwa ke."
@Joe4Public: "A minister! Is that official car? I see it was wrapped in black. Guess she always wanted to look official! Wonder how much she paid for it. I'm sure she paid for it! Right!? Or ??"
@setsopo: "Come on guys, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the video. She's just a human being having a good time in her big beautiful HOME with a garden, with a car that she can afford given her being the minister."
@Godfrey76918097: "Crass materialism amidst abject poverty... capitalism in its nature."
@AmaliaSouthey: "That's the second post I've seen of people showing off new cars. Cheesus. Do something better with that money. Times are tough. Until she lands up on the street then she won't be posting videos any more."
@good_heavens00: "Crass ANC materialistic arrogance! Questions have to be asked... How did this come about?"
@caiphus_mashia: "What qualifications do I need to be a minister? I really need to make a plan now. I promise to care for you all."
@emmanwaneri2000: "When u look at the low quality of people who end up in government courtesy of ANC, it is no surprise how SA has a consistent record of poor leadership. I wouldn't put this person in charge of my crèche."
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that ANC Limpopo councillor Tebogo Mamarobela has found herself in hot water after a video of her partying hard with friends went viral.
The Citizen reported that the Democratic Alliance had laid criminal charges against the Vhembe councillor after Mamarobela was exposed.
The video showed the politician enjoying herself with a bottle of champagne in hand surrounded by her guests, a clear violation of the current lockdown laws.
