Some people really are just lucky. A KwaZulu-Natal FNB bank user bought a R100 Lotto ticket on Tuesday and ended up winning the R135 million Powerball jackpot.

According to FNB spokesperson Themba Msimango, the new multi-millionaire purchased the winning ticked by choosing the quickpick option through the FNB online banking platform.

TimesLIVE reported that Msimango said that since 2015, more than R1.354bn in winnings has been paid out to FNB customers who played Lotto and Powerball through the bank's digital platforms.

The SA lottery shared news of the Powerball winner on Twitter and South Africans freaked out.

Many were openly jealous of the Lotto winner while others joked that they had been the lucky person to walk away with the massive R135 million.

Twitter user, @desmondxdes, commented:

"Some people pray hard."

Another tweep, @mmakau2677, asked:

"How come we have never seen a single winner who used your app winning a jackpot! Ohhooo."

Earlier this year, Briefly.co.za reported a 35-year-old woman from Soweto has bagged R114 million in the Lotto Powerball jackpot. The mother of four, who struggled to make ends meet, used R5 to buy the lottery ticket.

She said she often struggled to keep her head above water and sometimes needed her family's help.

To top it off, her bae dumped her because she did not have a high-paying job. The lotto winner plans to get her revenge on the former boyfriend.
