Following weeks of being quarantined after testing positive for the novel coronavirus, social media user @ant_them5 is among the few who have survived to tell their story.
In late February, @ant_them5 of Durham, North Carolina disclosed that he had tested positive for Covid-19.
The survivor said after he learned that he had tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus he had to share his truth to create awareness.
He posted on Instagram:
''Hey my people! Like many others, I learned today that I tested positive for the dreaded #Coronavirus. I’m not posting this because I want sympathy, I’m posting this to make you aware!! Please be careful and adhere to the advice of the health professionals."
After weeks of being in isolation while undergoing treatment, @ant_them5 took to social media to recount his ordeal.
''I know a lot of you are thinking, that I shared that I tested positive over a month ago and I should’ve been fine by now. I thought so too! However, for some reason I had a lingering cough, that wouldn’t go away. I asked my primary care physician after 3 weeks of quarantine, what’s going on? She said they are seeing cases where people have coughs for up to 4-6 weeks.’’
