Veteran actress Rami Chuene has defended Natasha Thahane from social media critics who have trolled her for bagging a teenage role.

Natasha has been named as one of the cast members in a new Netflix series titled Blood & Water.

The actress took to social media to share her good news but some tweeps questioned how she bagged the teenage role at the age of 24.

@ntandomatini_ commented on social media:

"I just kinda want them to cast teenagers for teenage roles (or people that look very young)."

Rami Chuene came to Natasha's defence and replied:

"It doesn’t work like that. I wish I could break it down for you but I’m tired. But trust me, this cast is perfect. Just because you know how old the actors are, doesn’t mean they don’t fit the characters. Your wish comes from a place of not knowing and I don’t blame you."

Briefly.co.za reported that the series has a female-led cast featuring some of Mzansi's freshest and prettiest faces including Natasha, Cindy Mahlangu, Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema and Gail Mabalane.

It will follow the story of Puleng Khumalo, a 16-year-old who gets herself transferred to the same high school as a girl whom she suspects is her long-lost sister.

Another tweep, @GSBrazy, said that the 24-year-old is too old to play a teenage role after Natasha posted behind the scenes pics of the show.

Natasha clapped back with a meme suggesting that she doesn't care what @GSBrazy thinks and her fans loved it.
