Rouge just did it for all the female Mzansi hip-hop artists out there. She was recently named the first SA female rapper to bag the Verse Of The Year award! This was announced by Slikour on #SlikourOnLife.
Being a female in a male-dominated industry like the hip-hop scene is not easy but it is also empowering.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Rouge made history when she was recently awarded The 2019 Verse of the Year Award.
Rouge, like her fellow female rappers, is fearless. Going up against a man doesn’t scare her and it is clear that it shouldn’t, because she dope AF!
The awards were recently announced and hearing Rouges name be announced with some of the hottest artists in the game like Proverb, A-Reece and Touchline, sent shockwaves through Mzansi – we are all so proud.
Taking to social media in absolute awe, Rouge thanked her fans and team, and made it known that females are fierce!
“Another accolade to add to my awards. No 2 ain’t too shabby FIRST FEMALE TO WALK AWAY WITH A #VOTY2019 EVER. Thank you to @TumiMolekane and the incredible panel
In other news Rouge expressed her feels for AKA on social media – this rapmance goes real deep!
Social media has broken out in a #askrouge Q&A session where the public are asking Rouge questions and she’s answering them.
Peeps were hella hyped over Rogue and AKA working together again – the two are working on a track and fans cannot wait for it to drop.
Fans have asked Rouge all sorts of things during the #askrouge session – from which American female rapper she would like to collab with (Lauryn Hill) to which female Mzansi rapper she fears (none, obvs), but it was the question about AKA that produced the juiciest answer.
