- A young girl detailed the plight of her and her grandmother to a young man in her community
- He mobilised his resources and blessed the gogo with a box filled with groceries
- The gogo and her grandchild cried tears of joy out of gratitude
The coronavirus pandemic and ensuing lockdown has put millions of South Africans under pressure.
Poverty has always been a huge problem within Mzansi, but things seem to be exacerbated since the inception of the lockdown.
The silver lining has been that many South Africans have put up their hands and displayed tremendous generosity in helping others in need.
A young man by the name of Woens, recently took to the #ImStaying Facebook group to detail one of these experiences.
A young girl revealed that she had been placed in her grandmother's care following the passing of her mother.
Unfortunately, the gogo has fallen on tough times, but Woens used the resources at his disposal and along with Ken Morka, paid the family a visit.
The men donated a box filled with groceries to the family and they were overcome with emotion.
Their gratitude was undeniable and the story inspired many via social media.
Margaret Matsepe said,
"This is the time God is using His people to fulfill His will. I salute you for doing what you are doing I love this group cos it has motivated and inspired us.God bless everyone who is doing good to others."
Marlene Meintjes added,
"God is great ...he used you to bless his child in need...Thank you for been obedient."
Diko Zimasile Arendse responded,
"This really touched my heart. Please keep on giving guys it is so good. May the good God richly bless you and extend your territory. This is the SA we need."
Briefly.co.za previously reported on another example of generosity, as a generous man used his salary to buy food for disadvantaged families in Dunoon, Cape Town.
His wife took to Facebook to say how proud she was of her husband.
