Trevor Noah walked away with a win from the 12th annual Shorty Awards which was also the first virtual one in history.
Thanks to the coronavirus, everything has to be done virtually, from concerts to award ceremonies.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Trevor virtually attended the awards and was crowned a winner, bagging another trophy to add to his endless collection.
The awards honoured the best in entertainment, music, tech, business, fitness, fashion, beauty and philanthropy.
The ceremony was streamed live on Periscope and YouTube for the world to see.
Trevor proudly walked away with the Best in Comedy award, not that we expected anything less.
Giving a virtual acceptance speech, Trevor reached for the first thing he could get his hands on to mimic his award – it was a potato. Proving his deservingness, Trevor had the world giggling whilst reminding them to stay safe and stay home.
Congratulations Comrade Trevor, you are the man!
In other news, Trevor Noah has embraced social distancing and taken his work home, literally. He has started a new show called The Daily Social Distancing Show on YouTube.
Most of the programme is filmed in his home in New York where he is self-isolating. His team from The Daily Show have taken their work home with them as well and are all doing their part from their homes.
Trevor explained that the entire team would be working remotely and that they did not know when they would see each other again in the studio.
