AmaZulu Football Club has confirmed that legendary soccer player Cedric 'Sugar Ray' Xulu passed away on Monday night in Pinetown.
According to KickOff.com, it is believed that Xulu had been battling with cancer.
In a statement, his former club broke the news to devastated South African football fans.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sugar Ray Xulu, an AmaZulu legend. Our condolences go out to all his friends and family during this tragic time! Rest in peace legend!"
AmaZulu also added:
"As we remember and celebrate the life of Usuthu legend, Cedric 'Sugar Ray' Xulu, let us each be grateful and rejoice in the lives we live! Stay strong, stay safe, stay positive."

Xulu was 81 when he passed away and several soccer clubs took to social media to mourn his loss.

The Arrows said:
