- Julius Malema remembered his beloved grandmother a year after her death
- Taking to social media, the EFF leader opened up about the pain of losing his gogo
- Juju said he's still learning to swim in the pool of pain since she was taken from them
It has been a year since Julius Malema's beloved grandmother passed away and the EFF leader remembered her in a touching social media post.
Last year, Juju shared the heart-breaking news that his granny had passed away, writing at the time on Instagram:
"Our pillar of strength has fallen, the great tree that provided cooling shades of comfort, love and stability have been uprooted, forever, from our lives. I love you, my confidant."
On Monday, a year after her passing, Malema wrote an emotional message on the pain of living without his grandmother - who he said always looked after her family even when she did not have a lot.
The EFF leader's post read:
"It was on this day last year when my wife delivered the most devastating news. It was like I was having a bad dream. Since then, some days have been better than others but at times I get extremely overwhelmed.
"I'm still trying to learn how to swim in this pool of pain because I know that nothing will ever ease it and that it will always be there. Continue to rest in power, the great tree that provided cooling shades of comfort and love. Koko Sarah Malema ."
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported Mzansi lost another legend. AmaZulu Football Club has confirmed that legendary soccer player Cedric 'Sugar Ray' Xulu passed away on Monday night in Pinetown.
He was 81 at the time of his death and according to reports, Xulu had been battling cancer.
