Basetsana Kumalo got all emotional after she managed to finish a 10km run without feeling any pain in her ankle.
This is because four year ago, doctors told her they didn't think she'd be able to run any more after she injured herself so badly.
The former Miss South Africa-turned-businesswoman took to social media to tell her fans about the 2016 fall that prevented her from "hitting the road" for four years.
In March 2016, the star fell and broke her ankle while at her son's school.
"I slipped and fell at son's school, it was a rainy day. I landed at the back of my head and lost consciousness. My right foot was basically sitting outside of my socket."
She had to have an open reduction surgery following the incident.
"I was in a cast and wheelchair bound and was on crutches after regaining mobility. Doctors said they don't think I'll be able to run any more. I used to run 10km every morning prior to my injury. I had to go for sports rehab. I've been doing yoga and eating well."
Bassie said she tried to run in 2019 but had to stop because of unbearable pain. However, she did not give up.
"With lockdown I decided to have some faith and hit the road, and I did."
