Somizi Mhlongo has generously pledged to donate the coffin for the burial of Bobo Duduzo Andile Mchunu.

It is difficult for the family, community and the country when a young person goes missing and there are no answers.

Briefly.co.za knows how Bobo’s tragic story touched Somizi and many others.

A gruesome video of Bobo's murder did its rounds on social media and attracted a lot of attention.

Bobo was allegedly accused of stealing liquor at a local bottle store and matters were taken into the hands of the community.

Somizi’s heart breaks even thinking about what the family must be going through, and while he can’t bring Bobo back, he can help ease this stressful time by donating money to purchase the coffin.

Bobo’s poor family is still waiting for the results from the lab to confirm whether the decomposed and battered body, which was found in a river in the area, is actually Bobo’s. So no definite funeral arrangements have been made just yet.

Taking to social media, Somizi pledged to buy the coffin and called on the people of Mzansi to help in any way that they can.

“Just spoke to Bobo's mom... she is waiting for the results from the lab to say for sure that the burnt and mutilated body is her son then they can decide when the burial will be. In the meantime please assist with whatever amount. PG Mbuthu 1171 334 115 Capitec. I'll cover coffin.”

Briefly.co.za previously reported that Bobo, a matric student, went missing last week in Tongaat and his remains are believed to have just been found.

Since the remains were found, Mzansi has been calling on the law to take action and get justice for this young man.

Somizi, Thuthuka and many more have taken to social media to rally for justice for Bobo.
