DJ Black Coffee raises over R500k for Mzansi Covid-19 relief fund

- DJ Black Coffee has done the most for his country by raising an insane amount of over R500k for SA's Covid-19 relief fund

- After seeing how successful the first rally was, Black Coffee decided to continue to help raise funds

- He now chooses a new charity to support each time and has done a truly heartwarming job at raising funds

It has been just over a month since DJ Black Coffee began with his online live concert series. Coffee’s innovative behind it all was to raise funds for organisations battling the Covid-19 pandemic. This remarkable man has already brought in over R500 000.

Initially, Coffee used his Home Brew sessions to collect funds for the government Covid-19 Solidarity Fund. He was able to rack in more than R96k.

Briefly.co.za learnt that, having been so successful in his first project, Coffee launch an all-new project. This time it was has been even more of a success enabling him to give money to various charities who are assisting families and individuals with food parcels.

The DJ chooses a new charity each week.

He has already provided Corona Cares SA with R147 000. This enterprise’s main objective is to help South Africans with their basic needs, such as water and food.

SAveBusiness, helping small businesses that have been hit hard by the lockdown regulations, received a tidy amount of R164 000.

#FeedingSATogether received R43 000 for their initiative in providing food parcels for those who really need.

R55 800 was given to KFC’s Add Hope. This organisation also assist with food parcels and meals to those without food.

Providing medical supplies to front-line workers in the fight against Covid-19 is Gift of the Givers. Coffee donated R19 800 to them.

UN Foundation have applauded Black Coffee for his amazing and selfless efforts. The foundation said that they are grateful for the support Coffee has given the World Health Organisation (WBO) in the fight against Covid-19. The foundation reiterated that we are all in this together!

What a country we live in. It is not only Black Coffee that has be working timeously raising money for Covid19 relief. DJ Oskido has raised over R62 000 for the Legend Live eThekwini Covid-19 fund. He has been holding his own virtual concerts.

Prior to this, Oskido managed to raise R89 567 together with DJ Fresh, DJ Zinhle, Vinny and DJ Maphorisa. These donations went to help with food packages which were distributed mainly in poor communities. It has also helped to assist affected businesses.
