Black-ish star Jennifer Lewis has opened up on how a man she thought was her gift from God conned her out of a cool $50 000.
The talented actress revealed she was seduced to invest in a business that never existed by someone she believed she was in love with.
Briefly.co.za gathered that during an interview with ABC News, Lewis said she was captivated after meeting the man, 57-year-old Antonio Mariot Wilson, during a gym session in 2015.
"He said he had graduated from Oxford University, he said he had been in the Navy Seals, I'm thinking, 'My God, He sent a man'," she said in the interview.
The actress dated the lover for about three months, this at a time when her acting career was coming back to life.
The actress was lured into investing $50 000 into a business that never existed, saying she was investing in a dream.
Lewis soon realised that she was not alone as the man had conned other women of more than $400 000.
He was recently convicted of fraud.
"I'm speaking out because I care, how can this happen to me, educated, world travelled, successful in the show business and was conned $50,000? I was embarrassed, humiliated, but I stood up for other women," Lewis added.
Wilson pleaded guilty to conning four women out of huge sums of money while working as a gym manager in California.
Lewis later sued the gym and settled for an undisclosed figure, according to Daily Mail.
