A woman shared a heartwarming story about how a homeless man blessed her with a food hamper. The man left the parcel outside her gate and his reason for the kind act left many inspired.
Twitter user FuskyFK hared her story on the social media platform. She explained how she came home to find a food parcel outside her gate.
"So on Sunday I found this hamper just outside my gate. At first, I thought it was one of my neighbours who left it at my gate as they have seen me giving food and parcels to this one gentleman who comes to my gate almost every day."
She queried with her neighbours about who may have left the parcel but came up with no answers. When the homeless gentleman passed by her house again, she asked if he had left the package.
"He responded with a smile and said “Yes I left tin stuff and other things at the gate for you”. And his reason was, a stranger gave him the hamper and R400, but because he is homeless and the hamper is too heavy, he decided to leave it by my gate."
The act of kindness by the homeless man left many Mzansi social media users inspired. The woman who shared the story went on to say:
"I am humbled by his gesture. I’ve asked him to bring a friend along every time he comes for food."
Social media users were also impressed by the woman's kind heart. Twitter user LelwaTimla said:
"Am crying... your heart."
"Ubuntu sisi! He knows you prepare food for him and saw it fit to meet you halfway, by giving you the items because in their current state they are of no use to him! God bless you for your time to prepare for him and patience and resilience to keep at it."
"This is beautiful, Modimo ago okeletse."
"Who is cutting onions?"
