AKA just got dropped hard by Reebok SA and the people of Mzansi are having none of it - #ReebokMustFall.
Even when you as big as AKA, doesn’t mean you always make the smartest business moves, shame.
Briefly.co.za saw the commotion which gave rise to the hashtag #ReebokMustFall.
Just last year AKA dropped his lit custom Reebok sneakers, SneAKAs. The sneakers took off like hotcakes and it has recently come out that AKA did not see a cent.
Supa Mega has been a Reebok ambassador for some time now, and we have to give it to him, he made the brand lit again.
Taking to social media out of pure rage, AKA recently let his people know that Reebok pulled a fast one on the SneAKAs – they gave him nothing, not a single cent!
“Can you believe they didn’t pay me a single cent for this? ... Not one cent.”
AKA was however not very smart. Our guy did not sign a contract, so he has no legal backing in the matter in terms of a signed agreement.
“There was no contract. Only my contract as an ambassador. A contract regarding the #SNEAKA doesn’t even exist.”
Apparently Reebok cut AKA as an ambassador as he was no longer a good fit for their vision.
“At the end of last year they told me they wouldn’t be renewing my contract because “the brand” wasn’t about the Reebok “classic” direction any more ... they were now geared towards selling gym clothes to women predominantly.”
The people of Mzansi are standing by AKA on this one and feel he deserves a little something something for the SneAKAs. #ReebokMustFall is trending, the people and AKA demand to be geard.
