A woman has taken to social media to share how she achieved success. She said that she was the result of eating iskhokho and tea and going through the public education system. These two variables, however did not deter her from achieving her qualification.
Twitter user Mokopanele_T shared a post proudly wearing her gown with the caption:
"I am a result of lekhokho ka tea. An example of what public education is capable of."
Iskhokho is the burnt remains of pap which many disadvantaged families eat in the place of bread. This food is usually shared with a cup of black tea. The so-called 'struggle food' is a staple in many South African homes.
Her inspiring words had many Mzansi social media users praising and congratulating her for the achievement. Twitter user MaseremiM said:
"Nothing beats a person who is determined."
"All the best to you Queen."
"Black women educated and securing the bag. We love to see it."
