Papa Penny was recently shocked when damages for his daughter, Anele, amounted to R24 000.

It all went down on the latest episode of the musician's reality television series.

Papa Penny was eager to pay damages for Anele, even though she's already a grown-up.

The star said he wants to do things the culturally correct way.

However, his good intentions appeared to be taken for granted when Anele's maternal male relatives demanded R24 000 in damages for her.

He said, "I am not paying lobola here. That woman already had kids when I met her. How much did they charge for the other children? They mustn't be silly."

Hilarious meme responses were the order of the day as most agreed that R24 000 was way too much.

Lerato Sibulane said, "I'm glad Papa Penny doesn't take nonsense. Papa Penny for team lead negotiator."
