Recently, AKA opened up about his Reebok deal and how it didn't work out that great for him. He revealed in a series of tweets that his deal with the sports brand for his line of shoes, Sneaka did not make him rich.

He didn't receive any royalties from the deal and was only associated with Reebok as a brand ambassador.

This led to social media users speculating that the famous rapper was broke. AKA got in on the joke and poke fun at himself, according to ZAlebs.

Briefly.co.za learned that his latest deal with Cruz Vodka is far better and he assured fans that it was above board. He took the opportunity to get in on the joke that he was bragging about his money before and was, in fact, broke.

In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that Sizwe Dhlomo has come out in defence of AKA's talent after it was revealed that the rapper accepted a raw deal from Reebok regarding his Supa Mega sneaker.

AKA trended for not receiving a cent from Reebok for the deal.

Sizwe came out guns blazing against tweeps who were trying to come for AKA's authenticity as an artist.

When a tweep called AKA a "fraud," Sizwe responded, "He's not a fraud. He's one of the most talented musicians SA has ever seen, but he's an awful businessperson and his story regarding his career earnings and what's due to him is tragic."
