The coronavirus pandemic is starting to hit Mzansi harder and the infection keeps rising on a daily basis.

Briefly.co.za previously reported that Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari tested positve for the novel coronavirus.

He recently opened up about the diagnosis and self-isolation at home.

Football fans are also being affected and lifelong Mamelodi Sundowns fan Luyanda Nicholas is also battling the dreaded virus.

Nicholas is recovering at his home in the Western Cape, but the Brazilians sent him a special shout out via their website and Twitter.

As per the below tweet, Sundowns wished Nicholas a speedy recovery.

Nicholas said, “I am at home now recovering, I am starting to exercise at home, but I have to take it slow.”

He added, “I have seen many Sundowns teams, I loved watching Phil Masinga and Daniel Mudau play. Now I can’t wait to see Themba Zwane return to the pitch."

Briefly.co.za learnt that the 37-year-old has been supporting Downs since 1991.
