A Kisumu man has shocked residents after he booked a room in a lodging, drilled a hole through a wall and stole from a nearby supermarket.

Investigations revealed money and television sets of unknown value were stolen in the Tuesday, May 19, heist at Shivling supermarket.

According to reports by K24, detectives were pursuing the thief and his accomplices.

The supermarket which was broken into along the Kisumu-Kakamega Road, shares a wall with the Hotel City Park where the thief stayed at night.

The incident was reported by hotel staff who arrived at work in the morning of Wednesday, May 20.

The man however, had already left the scene by the time the theft was discovered..
