DJ Zinhle has opened about about spending time with her daughter Kairo Forbes amid the ongoing lockdown in Mzansi.

The Umlilo hitmaker engaged in a deep conversation with actress Linda Mtoba on Instagram about being a mother and some of the challenges she faced daily as a parent.

The stunner's baby daddy is controversial rapper AKA. Their daughter was born in 2015.

Zinhle told Linda that she has had an "honest" conversations with Kairo with regards to having famous parents and being on the public eye.

"We have conversations with her because Kairo is having encounters with people where she realises this is not normal. She asks and we are very honest about what is happening so we can prepare her for the life she is going into. We are not sheltering her."

Kairo has her own Instagram page which has 962 000 followers.

Zinhle said she limits what goes into Kairo's page. The musician also revealed that she does not allow photos with fans when she is out with her daughter in public.

She said she enjoys spending her time indoors with Kairo during the lockdown. Zinhle explained that she felt Kairo was "comfortable" amid the lockdown.

"She is not worried. When she was going through the most I would just approach the door and she would ask me where I am going. Now I can go to the door and back and she doesn't care. It has made her comfortable to know I am always there."

Mtoba said she invited Zinhle so they could have an honest and fun conversation about raising their bundles of joy.

"I wanted the conversation to be about abomama (moms) and the challenges we face as parents. I wanted us to have an honest and fun conversation about raising our kids."

Briefly.co.za reported that Kairo started homeschooling recently amid the Covid-19 lockdown. She took to Instagram to share with her fans how she spent her first day of her second school term at home.
