Worried fans have flooded Menzi Ngubane's social media pages after it was reported he was in hospital. The Isibaya actor was admitted for a recurring kidney issue. He has since been discharged.
Entertainment blogger Phil Mphela took to social media and tweeted:
"Actor Menzi Ngubane is in hospital. Ilanga newspaper is reporting that the recently-hired #TheQueenmzansi actor has been admitted to hospital with a recurring kidney problem. The reports paint a dire situation."
The tweet set off a social media frenzy as concerned fans feared for the worst. His tweet spawned an instant response online and the hashtag #PrayForMenziNgubane trended.
Phil later went on to tweet:
"I am told he was only admitted for 2 days but he is doing OK. Reports of him being in critical condition were exaggerated. Good news!!!"
Social media users were relieved by the good news but still insisted on continuing to pray for the ailing actor. Twitter user PonagatsoN said:
"Fellow South Africans! We must not stop praying for him and his family. It is good news to hear how better he is now. Thanks for update Mphela."
"Aish what a relief, asbonge bro for the update.."
