Zodwa Wabantu has decided to rule the world of cosmetics. She is thinking of opening a store and selling her products.
Last year we saw Zodwa launch her very own perfume range. Putting her plan together to create a cosmetic empire, she announced earlier this month of petroleum jelly and a lipstick range.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Zodwa told TshisaLIVE that she took time during the national lockdown to plan what she will be doing next. She also managed to obtain stock from China.
“Since I launched my perfume range, I have had this big idea for a beauty collection, these are just some of the ranges in the collection. I have so much that I want to release still, like body lotion, mascara, nail polish and other products. We are going level-by-level like the lockdown.”

Zodwa explained that her stock will only be available online until she has negotiated with various stores to carry her products.
The initial plan was to have stock available in stores by April, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all her plans have been put on hold for now.
“With the lockdown came overpricing and people not really going to stores. So we decided to hold back on putting it in stores. Besides, your big retailers need a lot of time to plan and you have to submit your products sometimes a year before they appear in stores.”
With the pandemic making Zodwa change her plans, she is excited of the possibility of having her own retail store selling of things Zodwa Wabantu.
“I could open a store in a mall, rent it out, strictly for the Zodwa Wabantu collection. We are weighing up all our options at the moments.”
