Thapelo Mokoena and Khanya Mkangisa have been touted for co-starring roles in a new Mzansi movie.

The actors who have been in the country's film and TV industry for a minute now have been "considered" to co-star in Philane Ndaba's movie.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela said the movie has been in development since 2014. It even won a Durban Film Mart pitch award that year, according to Mphela.

"It'd be great to see Mokoena carry a film. Hopefully it will be made soon," Phil tweeted.

Phil emphasised that his tweet is "not saying that these two are hired in the film".

"They are touted as in considered. That’s why I ended the tweet with 'it’d be nice to see @ThapeloMokoena carry a film'."

Thapelo is one of Mzansi celeb dads who continue to make fatherhood look so cool.

Briefly.co.za reported that Gail Mabalane and Hlomla Dandala are among some of the stars who have bagged roles in new movies.

The two fan-faves will star in a film titled Indemnity. It will be directed by Travis Taute.

The film set in Cape Town, tells the story of an ex-firefighter, Theo, who is a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder sufferer. Theo, played by Jarrid Geduld, goes on the run after waking up next to his murdered wife's corpse.

Gail Mabalane has recently been applauded for her acting skills on Netflix's mini-series Blood & Water. The actress left many viewers in awe of how she portrayed the character of Thandeka Khumalo.

The series, which premiered a few days ago, is Netflix's second African original after Queen Sono.
