- The late Vuyo Mbuli's widow, Savita Mbuli, remembered him on the seventh anniversary of his funeral
- Savita said that day was extremely tough for her and their children
- However, she remembered the lighter moments as well
Savita Mbuli recently commemorated the seventh anniversary of her husband, Vuyo Mbuli's, funeral.
Vuyo was one of Mzansi's best-loved current affairs reporters.
He passed away in 2013 from pulmonary embolism - he had collapsed while watching television in his home.
Vuyo was buried on 24 May, 2013.
Savita posted a picture of her and her son at the well-attended burial.
She wrote, “This was us 7 years ago. It was a difficult time.. but, as in life, there were light moments too. Like my daughter asking 'What are condolences? Why are people giving them to us?'”
She continued, "In this picture I’m pulling my son back.. out of the blue as the procession was leaving for the cemetery.. came this lady.. yhooo and she was shouting.. 'Vuuuyooo wake up you are just sleeping! In Jesus name you’re going to wake up. Jesus you’re going to show them your miracle now!' Yhooo and she went on and on.. We were all confused. At first I thought it was a praise singer.. then I heard in her sayings that she was a Prophet. Hayi my son had enough.. he was going to stop her. Bishop jokes about this saying .. 'At some point I thought heyi what if Vuyo wakes up? What do I do? I need a plan.'"
Savita and Vuyo's kids have since grown up to be quite impressive - and good looking - young adults.
