It appears some people are not happy online until they can criticise other people's every move. Some even go as far as to fat shame a baby.

One mother, Kayla Frizzell - who is also a professional photographer - decided to celebrate her daughter's first birthday in a unique way.

Many people opt to take photos of a cake smash to capture the milestone birthday but Frizzell wanted to do something better.

Instead of ruining a perfectly good cake, Frizzell used a bucket of KFC chicken pieces as props for the birthday photoshoot.

She captioned some of the photos:

"Mia's early one year old 'cake' smash.I f you know me, you know I LOVE KFC so it was only fitting to swap a cake out for some chicken! Turns out she loves KFC and doesn't love to share it, haha!"

Little did Frizzell know her adorable 'cake' smash photo session would spark a lot of negativity online.

Some dragged the mother of two for giving her daughter the unhealthy food - yeah, because cake is so much better.

Others went as far as to make negative comments about the one-year-old's body size. The backlash prompted Frizzell to pen an update on her Facebook page, clapping back at the people who felt entitled to make snarky remarks about a baby's body.

She wrote:

"After receiving some horrible messages about my daughters ‘size’, I would like to add that she is perfectly healthy and very well fed, the KFC is for prop purposes only, and her father and I enjoyed eating it all once the shoot was over. Please keep the negative comments to yourself."

Briefly.co.za gathered that although there were haters, many people came forward to show Frizzell support and added that the photos were adorable.

Tina Gardiner commented:

"Miss Mia is perfect and don't let negative people with nothing better to do tell you otherwise. I remember watching her eat avocado on Australia day and thinking what awesome parents she has. You guys are fantastic parents and your children are healthy and happy."

Kim-Marie Holt said:

"People will always be very judgmental and negative, unfortunately they can't help but try and spread that negativity around. I think you had an amazing idea for a photo shoot. I love it. You have a wonderful family and it shows. Your daughter must of had so much fun. Your amazing work shows the talent you have."

Marily Earheart added:

"I can't believe that you had to 'edit to add' this post! No mother needs to give explanations about their kids, their ways etc. And no one should be shaming on anyone's size, specially a baby. your daughter is precious and perfect! Such a cutie pie."

Cheynae Deleeuw wrote:

"Ignore the haters and judgmental comments. You do you. I hope your little one has/had an amazing first birthday."
