Jay-Z made sure that late Ahmaud Arbery's family lawyer was in time for Arbery's alleged killers' court appearance.

The rapper sent Arbery's lawyer, S Lee Merritt a private jet in order to attend the preliminary hearing that began on Thursday.

Arbery was chased by two white men then shot by one of them while jogging through a Georgia neighbourhood in February.

In an Instagram post on Thursday the civil rights lawyer explained that Hov sent him a private jet to attend the preliminary hearing.

Merrit posted:

"When you absolutely have to be in court to stand with your client and righteous protestors for justice... Jay Z sends his private jet. That's part of the P.P.E plan to get us out of this crisis (People Power Political Power Economic Power) #PPE @rocnation @grassrootslaw @shaunking @leemerrittesq #thepeopleslawyer @blerimelmazi #runwithmaud #itsonus."

XXL magazine reports that this probable cause hearing will determine if former police officer Gregory McMichael, his son Travis McMichael and William "Roddie" Bryan Jr., the man who recorded the video of Arbery's death, are likely to have committed the crimes they are being charged of and decide whether or not the case will go to trial.

According to XXL, Gregory and Travis have been charged with murder and aggravated assault, and William was charged with felony murder and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment. Travis fired the gun that killed Arbery.

Numerous protests have taken place across the US this week in honour of Arbery, as well as George Floyd who was murdered in Minneapolis and Breonna Taylor, a black woman who was killed by police in Louisville.

Briefly.co.za has reported that Jay-Z has taken out multiple newspaper advertisements in remembrance of Floyd. Kanye West has donated $2 million to support the families of Floyd, Arbery and Taylor.
