DJ Tira has taken to social media to challenge his music industry peer, DJ Maphorisa.
Maphorisa had warned Mzansi musos not to drop any song on 26 June because Kabza De Small will be releasing his solo album on the day.
The Thank You Mr DJ hitmaker has hit Maphorisa up on Twitter telling him that it's on!
Phori, who has been dropping bangers for the past few months, tweeted:
"If you're dropping ka di 26 tsa June you're in trouble."
But Tira, who has been giving Mzansi hits for the past 21 years, wrote:
"Woza sohlangana khona (Come, we'll meet on the day)."
Briefly.co.za reported that Tira is releasing an EP titled 21 Years Of DJ Tira to celebrate the years he has been in the music industry. He is releasing the EP on 26 June, the same date that Kabza is dropping his new project.
Tweeps wrote that Gqom music no longer rules Mzansi dancefloors because Amapiano has taken over. Some peeps suggested that Tira needs to fall back and let Kabza shine on the date while others believe that Tira still has what it takes to give South Africa hits.
"Lol. Tira wa chancer. Done."
"Do you know Tira? They don't call him Makoya for NOTHING!!!"
"Malume still owns the world. I'm a 2000 remember."
"What a joke malume, postpone."
"Dankie Malom. Hit 'em hard."
Briefly.co.za also reported that DJ Tira took to social media to share a new photo of himself and hit Kwaito group, Big Nuz. Makoya Bearings sent his fans into a frenzy with the caption of the snap.
Tira wrote that they were ready to work and asked his fans, who have been asking for the group's reunion, to stay tuned.
