Somizi Mhlongo has revealed that he had planned to get married before same-sex marriages were made legal in Mzansi.

The media personality revealed this during an Instagram Live chat with Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi. As part of Miss Universe's open discussion about Pride Month, they spoke to the reality TV star.

Somizi and Zozibini engaged in a conversation about how it felt for Somizi to get married in a world where some countries do not allow gay marriages.

"The world was going to know about it. It was going to happen. I always knew that I was going to get married, even before we had the right to same-sex marriage."

The Metro FM presenter described himself as a "rebel" who would have gotten married either way.

"I am a rebel. I don’t allow any form of rule or society to dictate what I should do, especially when it comes to me being me. I always knew that I was born here to live my life and I am not going to live according to someone else’s acceptance of me."

Somizi and Mohale Motaung had a traditional and a white wedding, both of which were bigger than most of the weddings anyone has ever seen in Mzansi.

Briefly.co.za reported that Somgaga, DJ Zinhle and Pearl Thusi have teamed up on a brand-new show. Somizi dropped the news but didn't say much, and that was enough to create a major hype on social media.

He tweeted:

"Shoot went well in my home... new TV show loading."
