Mzansi is celebrating the birthday of one of its most beloved and talented actresses. Best known for her role as the flamboyant Mam Ruby on Generations, Slindile Nondangala is easily one of the best entertainers in the country.
Nodangala grew up in Durban and was raised by her grandmother and older siblings. A talented singer, Slindile was also an active member of her church choir. She has two children, born in 1996 and 2001.
She has been to China, Taipei, Beijing, Shanghai, Malaysia, Beirut and Scandinavia. She has met a lot of world-famous people including Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Elton John and the Prince of Jordan.
Her most famous role was a starring role as Mam Ruby on Generations between June 2011 and December 2014. She also featured in award-winning South African movie Izulu lami in 2008 and The Lion King musical.
She is currently cast in Rhythm City as Blossom Khuze.
