- Burna Boy and Sho Madjozi had a disagreement over Stormzy’s Own It remix
- Sho believes Burna Boy got it taken down as a means to sabotage her before the BET Award announcement
- Burna Boy, however, denied it all and was really nice to Sho about it - she wasn't buying it
Burna Boy and Sho Madjozi got into a little beef battle on social media over Stormzy’s Own It remix.
Artists are constantly throwing shade at one another on social media, especially when they are head-to-head for an award.
Briefly.co.za saw Sho throw shade at Burna Boy, claiming that he got Stormzy’s Own It remix taken down.
The two are going up against one another for a BET Award and Sho feels like this was part of Burna Boy’s plan to sabotage her.
Sho made the statement on social media, backing it up with email proof that Burna Boy got the remix taken down.
Burna Boy responded to claims, making it clear that he had no part to play in the track being taken down. He suggested that it might be because Stormzy’s record label didn’t clear the remix and it got flagged.
“Own It is NOT my song. If my voice is on it however it should have been properly cleared. If the remix wasn’t cleared with the label (Atlantic US) it automatically gets flagged. Nothing to do with me personally or any award. Always best to reach out professionally. Congrats on BETs.”
Sho, however, did not believe a word he said and fired back again. This is not like Sho at all – this has clearly struck a major nerve.
“To believe this I would have to believe that: 1. The song got automatically flagged a month late by coincidence. 2. When they said YOU wanted it down they meant your label. 3. A big international label would release a song without clearing it. It’s a lot Burna. Let’s keep it 100%.”
