Across the world, the coronavirus has wreaked havoc and it's been no different in South Africa.
Though the nation has done well to flatten the curve, the number of infections and fatalities are rising sharply on a daily basis.
The dreaded disease claimed more lives recently and one of them is Captain Kenneth Lombard.

The SAPS hero played a pivotal part in his community and the special tributes which poured in are a testament to this.
Bloubergrant High School shared a touching tribute to Lombard and lauded him for the role he played and his pleasant demeanour.

Liza Munro also shared a video via Facebook, which highlighted the special convoy arranged for the SAPS hero.
Briefly.co.za noted the impact of Lombard's loss based on the heartfelt comments.
Charlene Isaacs-siddiqui said,
"We've true lost a man with a big he's passing really brought Atlantis to a stand still and stand together I'm proud of my community."
Charmaine Aletta Jacobs added,
"Strongz Lisa I know that you specially and others like Lucille Ronel and everyone who were together at school shared a special bond Cannot capture your grief n words but pray that we can find some way to understand God's plan Many blessings to you and the love you all had for Kenny He was a true legend May his beautiful soul rest in peace."

Previously, Briefly.co.za reported that the family of the late Thokozani Makaula has shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death.
When the registered nurse exhibited flu-like symptoms a few weeks ago, her family brushed it off.
Unfortunately, she contracted the coronavirus and passed away alone in a hospital.
