AKA is as spicy as ever. He took to social media to reveal how he once got into trouble for wearing a Bafana Bafana shirt because it clashed with the brand he was representing.
The rapper was previously signed with a brand that was in direct competition with Nike, which manufactures the national soccer team jersey.
"Imagine getting into trouble for wearing the Bafana Bafana shirt because it has a Nike logo on it. And when I say “Imagine” … I mean it actually happened."
He expressed relief that since the deal ended he can now wear whatever he wants, wearing A Bafana Nike jersey.
He then went on to post a picture wearing Jordans, saying:
"Oh man... feels great to wear Jordans again."
Social media users were amused by his bluntness regarding the entire situation. Twitter user RawyelPholobz said:
"Imagine signing a contract that states only wear Reebok... You sign it then you wear Nike items then you start imagining all over again."
"MJ had to hide Reebok to avoid ruining relationship with Nike."
"Ahhhh. They were really tryna turn you into their puppet weren't they?"
"But why sign the endorsement deal then if it's the reason you are complaining? Or maybe I'm missing something bigger and deeper than this?"
"All of that drip in the closet but you can't go outside..."
