American singer Cardi B has reacted to people's criticisms about her husband Offset's birthday gift to their daughter Kulture.
The Bodak Yellow singer and Offset gifted their daughter a pink lovely mini-Birkin bag for her second birthday. According to online reports, the beautiful bag costs R133 000 ($8,000).
On Wednesday, 15 July, Offset took to his official Instagram account to surprise the daughter with the bag. Following the post online, the couple were criticised for buying such an expensive gift for their daughter, who many say does not know the value.
Reacting to the criticism, Cardi B said that her daughter needs the bag. According to her, if she's well-dressed and her husband is well-dressed, then her kid also has to look good.
"When celebrities buy their kids designer things, people are like kids don't care about that, they only care about toys and candy. But the thing is, kids also go outside. Kids go to restaurants, kids go to fancy places. Celebrity kids, they go do red carpets," she said.
She added that "if I'm fly and daddy's fly, then so is the kid. If I'm wearing Cha-nay-nay, my kid's having the same thing. It's not up to what the kids like. If it was the kids, they'd be outside in diapers."
Colour pink seemed to be Kulture's favourite as she was also donned in a pink matching outfit for her birthday day on Friday, 10 July.
In the video shared on her mum's Instagram page, she was seen dancing as people around her cheered on. A few days after her birthday celebration, Offset surprised his daughter with an expensive bag.
