- SK Khoza might have been exposed but that doesn't mean the person who exposed him is getting away with it
- If SK manages to find the person who leaked the footage, he could take legal action that could end up seeing the person paying a R300k fine
- SK is in a bit of a pickle and we are not sure that legal action is the route he wants to take right now
SK Khoza might be in some hot water after a questionable video of him and some ladies surfaced, however, the person who leaked the footage will be in even more trouble if found.
While it is not cool what SK did, no one really had the right to leak personal footage of him living his best life as they did – its personal peeps, even if it is dodgy.
Briefly.co.za learnt that it has since been brought forward that the person who leaked the footage of SK and his shenanigans could face heavy legal action that comes along with a hefty fine.
According to a legal expert who talked with Sowetan Live, SK is technically a victim of what is known as 'revenge porn'. You can’t just go around leaking personal footage of people, it’s illegal.
Hannes Bouwer of Cavanagh & Richards Attorneys came forward to say that the Films and Publications Amendment Bill states that:
“Any person who knowingly distributes private sexual photographs and films in any medium, including through the internet, without prior consent of the individual or individuals and where the individual or individuals in the photographs or films is identified or identifiable in the said photographs and films, shall be guilty of an offence and liable upon conviction.
"If the person is/can be identified in the publication [a person found guilty will get a] fine not exceeding R300,000 or imprisonment not exceeding four years or both."
So, if SK can find the person who leaked the footage, he could get a little justice from his side, however, we are not sure that this is the route SK wats to take. Man’s got a lot of cleaning up to do as it is.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that SK Khoza’s attempt to apologise for his questionable actions have sent peeps down the rabbit hole. He definitely isn’t getting off that easily, shame.
Getting caught out doing some questionable things is definitely not ideal when you are in the public eye. Not only does it tarnish your character, but those who associate themselves with you too.
SK has further been pulled through the mud after his attempt at apologising for what was caught on camera. While it seems that SK is genuinely sorry for his actions (or maybe just that he got caught), the people of Mzansi are having none of it.
