Watch out people of KwaMashu! There's a new sheriff in town. Veteran Mzansi actor Jet Novuka has bagged a new role on hit SABC1 telenovela Uzalo. The 49-year-old star will play the role of fierce policeman, Captain Yamkela Mpambani.
The soapie, set in KwaMashu, said in a recent statement that they will be bringing in familiar faces to their storyline to shake things up.
One of the new faces is Jet, who shot to fame as Zakes in the SABC1 drama series Yizo Yizo. He has also been part of the former SABC3 soapie Isidingo. He played the role of Sizwe Kondile.
The award-winning actor has also appeared on The River, Igazi, Zone 14, Interrogation Room, and Home Affairs, among other productions.
According to ZAlebs, the statement read:
"True to form, every season brings on fresh faces to deliver exciting twists, as well as reintroduces familiar faces to shake things up."
Uzalo's creative director Brenda Mukwevho welcomed Jet to their cast and crew. She said:
"We’re excited about Sir Jet Novuka joining the Uzalo family and Nomcebo Gumede returning to the family. We have some great plot twists coming up and cannot wait for audiences to see what the cast will deliver!"
In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that a beautiful young woman has taken to social media to show off her new crib. Neo Sukude shared on Twitter that she got the keys to her new home on Tuesday morning, 28 July.
Neo, who gushed with pride over her achievement, wasted no time and moved into her new house on the same morning.
According to her profile on the micro-blogging app, Neo is a digital brand strategist and a cook. The stunner posted pictures of the keys to her crib and captioned her post:
"Big girl purchases. Got my keys handed over and walked into my new home this morning. Blessed to say I’m now a homeowner. All praise to the most high."
Tweeps who read Neo's post have praised her for buying the home. Some have even asked to move in with her.
