Candice Modiselle has taken to social media to school a tweep who encouraged others to start a petition to ban the Idols SA Season 16 after it premiered on Sunday, 2 August.

The media personality asked the tweep to consider the cast and crew of the show that depend on it to put food on the table for their families.

"Sis, let me educate you... Yeah sure, you don’t like the show, but you’re also asking to “ban” the cast & crew that eat off of this production. Don’t forget that for many, it’s employment, not just some frivolous piece of entertainment you no longer enjoy. Just don’t watch."

The stunner couldn't believe it when another tweep who commented on her post told her that there's actually a petition to cancel the show.

"There’s actually a petition?! That’s ridiculous. Art is subjective & SA audiences need to understand that. If everyone had to join forces to cancel shows they don’t like there would be nothing to watch. This false sense of entitlement social media has given some people is weird."

In other news related to the show, Briefly.co.za reported that Cassper Nyovest made his debut as the first celebrity guest judge. Cass made a judgement on Zozibini's sister that had peeps screaming bias. The coronavirus put Idols SA on hold for a while but fans are glad to see that it is back. Seeing all the bloopers is one of fans' favourite parts of the show.

Cassper’s first time judging on the show went a little sideways when his alleged crushes sister appeared in front of him – the people of Mzansi are convinced Cass has a thing for Zozi.

While Sibabalwe has a sweet voice, viewers didn’t feel it was enough. Taking to social media to discuss the matter, some felt she only got the Golden Ticket because of her famous surname and because Cassper was trying to score some brownie points with Zozi.
