AKA bagged a SAMA for his Jika music video and he couldn't be happier. The rapper celebrated by posting a video of his reaction on social media. He also thanked his fans for voting for the song.
The rapper's hit song Jika featuring Yanga Chief scooped the #SAMA26 Music Video of the Year. Yanga Chief recently won this year’s SAMA for Hip Hop Album Of The Year.
The music video category was a heavily-contested one as AKA was up against Prince Kaybee, who had two nominations.
AKA had previously thrown shade at the selection of nominees. The Fela In Versace hitmaker felt too many music videos were nominated in the category.
Briefly.co.za gathered that 20 Mzansi music videos were competing against each other in the category in order to win the prestigious award voted for by the public.
AKA also posted a thank you message:
“Thank you MEGACY. You guys are absolutely insane. Like, I have no words,” AKA wrote.
"Sho Mega congrats bafanas wase Eldos."
"That day you gave that lamjita a 100Grand, we knew you were guaranteed to get it back via de SAMAs. Congratulations Mega."
"Working overnight pays off, this one for your hard work and dedication #KingForbes #AKAluzanga"
"Congratulations are in order for the Super Mega & The Chief"

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported that Cassper Nyovest has continued to blast the SAMAs after his artist Nadia Nakai was not nominated in the Best Hip Hop Album category.
The Amademoni hitmaker has advised artists who were snubbed by the SAMAs to rather focus on winning new fans than taking home new awards.
Mzansi stars including Matorokisi hitmaker Makhadzi, Nadia and R&B sensation Ayanda Jiya have all taken to social media to complain about not being nominated for this year's ceremony.
