- Somizi Mhlongo decided it was time to confront straight men about the interest they show in his relationship
- Somizi wrote a post to straight men on social media in which he asked them why they really get annoyed with him being with a man
- Somizi feels that some of these straight men might actually just be angry at the fact he's been able to come out about who he really is and they haven't
Somizi Mhlongo decided it was time to confront straight men on just why they care so much about what he and his hubby Mohale Motaung-Mhlongo do. If you are not a fan of same-sex marriage, why do you get so invested?
There are still a lot of people who do not believe in same-sex marriages or even people of the same gender being a couple. This ongoing discrimination has made the lives of people of the LGBTQ+ community very difficult for many years.
Briefly.co.za came across a rather deep post made by Somizi in which he straight-up asked straight men why they are so interested in his relationship. This is a hard conversation that many are not willing to have.
Somizi took to social media with what he titled his “closed letter,” addressing the interest so many straight men show in his relationship. He sees you and he wants answers. This all stems from some questionable pics Somizi once posted on social media in which his bum was showing.
Seeing his bum posted on social media got the backs of a lot of people, mainly straight men, up. Somizi found it rather interesting as to why this was so offensive to straight men. Is it because he’s married to a man?
Getting real deep, Somizi questioned whether the men complaining actually liked it and just don’t have the guts to be open about who they really are. Often men who have to hide their sexuality are the first to make a mockery of those who have had the courage to own theirs.
“Closed letter to the so straight guys who are always touched by my relationship. They know themselves... this is not to all guys but bayazazi abazifuna next to me secretly, but instead of saying it they choose to spew hate. RIP.”
Seeing the post, many took to the comment section to let Somizi know that they supported him. Seeing how many straight men agreed with Somizi and showed their support is truly heartwarming.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Somizi Mhlongo was the latest Mzansi media personality to join the #ChallengeAccepted campaign. The trending hashtag is specifically for women to highlight women empowerment.
Somizi donned some make-up and a weave and hopped onto the trend. Women have been posting black and white photos of themselves and tagging other ladies to join them.
Somizi took to Instagram after being tagged by Moneoa and posted a black and white video of himself. The star was dressed in full drag with a stunning face beat, wig and dramatic dress. He captioned his post:
"I dedicate this post to all the women of the world.”
