Vhudi Mamphwe, creator of popular song My Yoki Yoki, was eliminated from the Idols SA competition. However, the Venda artist has not let the setback get to him. He has promised to release the song as a single to kick off his career.
The 20-year-old melted Mzansi hearts when he performed his song during the audition stage of the competition.
Taking to his Twitter account, Vhudi said:
"What an incredible journey I've had on @idolssa. Thank you to everyone who started supporting me from my first audition. I appreciate you all! Great news: I will be releasing #MyYokiYoki soon! We will announce release date this week!"
The singer's account has grown over the last few weeks and he is now sitting at over 20 000 followers on the social media platform.
Social media users expressed excitement over the announcement that he would not be giving up on his career. Twitter user Nomcebozikode said:
"My kids are singing it already, all the best boy."
"Screw Idols, you don’t need them, release the single and we’ll gladly support."
"I suspect they knew he was going places with or without Idols, so keeping him there was just going to delay him. It's an inside job."
"And we will continue. Drop that music and I will support it personally."

Briefly.co.za previously reported that musician Vhudi has been booted out of . He stole many people's hearts when he performed his original song My Yoki Yoki on the singing competition.
When he auditioned in Johannesburg a few weeks ago, the show's judges Somizi Mhlongo, Randall Abrahams, Unathi Nkanyi and guest judge Buhle Mda sang along to the musician's song.
The Limpopo-born star also became an instant hit on Mzansi's Twitter. Many people were impressed by his song. Vhudi has now been booted out of the show and many South Africans believe that one of the reasons he was given the boot is because he has already signed a record deal.
