The general overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has spoken on the issue of marriage and the place of a wife.

On his ministry’s Instagram page on Thursday, September 3, the man of God said that total submission from the wife to the husband is the only condition for a fruitful marriage.

The clergyman added that until that is done, every other thing the woman tries to do does not matter. He said that a woman who does not submit is disobeying her Maker.

Bishop Oyedepo said the principle is also applicable to women who are ministers of the gospel. He said they still have to submit even if the man is not a minister.

Referencing the Bible in Ephesians chapter 5 verse 22, the man of God said that an obedient wife is always precious to her husband.

The Instagram post partly read:

"The only way to a fruitful marriage is total submission on the part of the wife. Until it is in place, every other thing she tries to do will be out of place.
"A woman who refuses to submit to her husband is disobeying God. As a woman, you might even be a minister of the gospel, and your husband is not, the Word of God still says to submit yourself to him..."
