- Boity referred to South African men as unemployed roaches after Mihlali's video about being shamed for dating multiple men came out
- Boity maintained that South African women should not stoop down to men's level
- She took to Twitter to say that her comment was only meant for those who were attacking her
Media personality Boity Thulo has remained firm in her opinion that South African men are roaches. With gender-based violence on the rise in South Africa, Boity spoke out last week about how she felt that South African men are as low as anything. She also said that women should not feel the need to be brought down to their level.
The artist made these comments after Mihali Ndamase went on a rant on Instagram about being shamed for going on dates with different men. Some Twitter users were outraged at Boity's comments and had some nasty things to say back to her.
Many Twitter users came at Boity, calling her out for being bitter because she is single.
"Now we roaches... Says a single 30-year-old who's about to be single for many more years."
"You are calling people roaches? Lets see you after 30 more years when you have withered and younger hotter women are taking the limelight. You are a fool."
Hitting back at the abuse she received on social media for her comments, Boity took to Twitter yesterday, 3 September to defend herself. She tweeted:
"These men insulted me in every way possible. I too responded with insults & proceeded to call those men unemployed roaches. If you didn’t insult me that day, the insult was not meant for you.”
Briefly.co.za previously reported on AKA's response on Boity's comment about Mzansi men being unemployed roaches.
AKA saw Boity’s comment and the commotion that was caused by them and decided to throw his match into the blaze. AKA felt the need to let peeps know that being unemployed doesn’t make them roaches, sis was just a tad upset.
“GOOD MORNING BROTHERS & SISTERS,#. BEING UNEMPLOYED DOES NOT MAKE YOU A “ROACH”, ESPECIALLY IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES. YOU MISS 100% OF THE SHOTS THAT YOU DON'T TAKE. BELIEVE IN GOD & YOURSELF. TODAY IS YOUR DAY!!!! LETS GOOOO!!!”
