Tribute to the late Thandeka Mdeliswa

South Africa mourns the death of Thandeka Mdeliswa. The 27-year-old actress came to the limelight when she played the role of Khanya on SABC 1's drama series entitled iKani. News has it that Thandeka Mdeliswa cause of death was a brutal gunshot. The incident happened at her family's home in Evander, Mpumalanga, on Thursday, 3rd September 2020. Thandeka Mdeliswa's family rushed her to Evander hospital, where the doctors stabilized her condition. She was then airlifted to Witbank and transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Gauteng, Pretoria. The doctors confirmed Thandeka Mdeliswa dead on Saturday morning.

Brigadier Hlathi Leonard, a police spokesman, stated that the cops found the gun owner, but they are still hunting down the murderer. According to the police, two men argued with her brother in her home. Thandeka went to check what was going on, and violence erupted. One of the men grabbed the gun from the other, shot her, and the two men fled from the scene. The police appealed to the public to help them in the investigation by providing them with any information about the shooter.

The actress was born on 22nd May 1993 in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Mdeliswa's acting career started at Brumilda's Acting Academy before landing her first acting role on television in 2013. She performed in the etv's series, eKasi (season 5, episode 11). Mdeliswa returned to the show (season 5, episode 33) as a girlfriend of a pastor who had separated from his wife for five years.
