Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that true love is rare. In modern society, relationships tend to be easily lost with not many willing to fight through the challenges one can be faced with when settling down. This is why love stories such as the one about this elderly couple are always so heartening.

Cleo Ehlers took to the feel-good Facebook group ImStaying to share the news of her parents, whose marriage has stood the test of time and reached its 60-year mark. Her post read as follows:

In other news, the gift of life is beautiful. It becomes even more beautiful when one is blessed with added years to celebrate. One such lucky lady is the grandma of TD Phakwe. The proud grandson took to Facebook to wish her a happy 111th birthday.

In his post he thanks his gogo for looking after both himself, his siblings, and all of their combined children.

"Help me wish my grandma a special birthday - 111 years. We are truly blessed and honoured to be raised by you with love, including our children. Not many of us will reach there," he wrote.
