Mzansi has been through a dramatic time recently with but we still managed to have some laughs along the way. Briefly.co.za explores the latest updates from the past week in South Africa.
Mzansi has been through the most this week but citizens stayed strong and managed to push through.
From protests to drama, South Africans still took the time to look on the brighter side of life.
Briefly.co.za explores the hottest stories from this past week:
Children really are so honest. A little girl has stolen South Africans' hearts after her dad filmed her talking about the differences between him and her mom.
The sweet little girl imitated both her parents to show how they react when she has done something wrong.
The adorable video was shared on Twitter by social media user @EzamaCirha, who captioned it:
"This video still gets to me, hey this child sold her mom like that."
In the video, the dad asks his daughter who gave birth to her and she answers: "My mommy." He then asks her what her mom says and the little girl re-enacted her mother shouting:
"Lithemba! Come here so I can beat you."
Laughing, the dad asks how he reacts and the sweet girl used a calm voice to imitate him.
"Hayi Lithemba, don’t do that," she said.
DJ Zinhle and Black Motion's Murdah Bongz took their first baecation and it is giving fans life!
It really is so lovely to see Zinhle happy with a man who respects everything that this powerhouse boss babe is. It is not always that your first love is your true love.
Sometimes we need to go through a lot before life blesses us with what we deserve, and we are hoping that this is what has happened in the case of Zinhle.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Zinhle and Murdah had been spotted sharing snaps of the same spot in the Mpumalanga province to their social media accounts.
These two might not be out in the open but we can put two and two together. Murdah Bongz is a prolific world music singer.
The celebrity has been the talk of the town lately because of rumours that he is in love with DJ Zinhle, AKA's ex-girlfriend.
The two are clearly keeping things on the DL but it also doesn’t seem like they are necessarily hiding anything either.
Even after people put a name to Zinhle’s mystery man, sis did not say a word. She’s clearly doing this relationship a whole load differently to the one she had with AKA and we are pleased.
Seeing the similar pictures shared of two Mpumalanga province tourist attractions, fans couldn’t help but assume that they are on their first baecation. At least Zinhle and Murdah know they have the support of the public.
Somizi has taken to social media to share his two cents on the heated debate that the controversial Clicks advert has sparked in Mzansi.
The reality TV star took to Instagram on Monday, 7 September to express his views on the touchy subject, which has had social media abuzz for several days.
As expected, the star first expressed that he did not agree with Clicks' campaign. He also agreed that the ad was racist.
Somgaga further explained that black South Africans are too forgiving, hence they have been mistreated for some years now.
The star said once the drama the advert has created has passed, people will return to Clicks to buy their cosmetics.
The Metro FM presenter also sided a bit with the retail store. He explained that black people tend to treat their hair often, which leaves it damaged because of the products they use. He said that's why Clicks had referred to black women’s hair as unhealthy.
In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that a boy has learned at a very young age that sometimes love hurts.
We don't always find our Mr or Mrs Right the first time. One young man was filmed by his mom detailing how his bae broke his heart.
In the video, which was shared online by social media user @aypee_madicks, the boy revealed he was dumped for someone else.
"Mum, you see that girl that I used to love. She broke up with me. She likes the new boy now," he told his mama.
The supportive parent then asks him if he is okay, to which the boy simply shakes his head. The mother asked if he spoke to the girl and the boy said:
"She says she doesn’t love me any more."
