A woman from England is celebrating her first wedding anniversary with her bae - a tree. Yes, a tree. Kate Cunningham, also known as Kate Elder after she changed her name when she married the elder tree, is a mom of two.
Kate left her children at home as she dressed up for a ceremony in celebration of her one-year anniversary. But it's not all crazy, Kate hopes the marriage will attract attention to a campaign to save Rimrose Valley Country Park from being transformed into a bypass.
Kate did admit that her 15-year-old son was experiencing a form of embarrassment at her marriage to the tree, but later said that he understood the reasoning behind what she was doing.
ecr.co.za reported that the 38-year-old said her husband is 'the one.' According to sciencetimes.com, Kate's love for her husband can be regarded as dendrophilia, which literally translates to "love of trees".
Twitter users were left stunned by the news after @instablog9ja posted about the ceremony. Many asked some questions while a few wished her well, with puns included.
"At least the tree won't cheat on her."
