A man came forward to claim the idea and extensive proof has been provided. Somizi and the producer have now been put on the spot to explain the matter. Hastings Moeng is the man who is allegedly the brains behind the juicy concept. He pitched the idea many times and it was literally taken from him without any recognition.
During an interview with News Room Africa, Somizi explained his side of the story. Admitting that he has spoken to Hastings back in 2913 or 2014, Somizi explained that the baseline idea was pitched but no actual documentation was provided.
“I only spoke to him once. I think it was in 2013, not 2014. He told me he wants us to do a cooking show (called) "Dinner with Somizi," or something like that. But I have never seen any documents.”
Somizi denied seeing any emails with the pitch and explained that if there was anyone who saw the said emails it would have been his manager. Somizi had no knowledge of any emails or a documented pitch.
