Hilarious reactions to Gucci selling 'grass stained' jeans for R20k

Netizens have been stunned by international fashion brand Gucci after the release of their latest denim collection.

The luxury line released pictures showing the denim pieces designed with a grass stain effect around the knee area, which Gucci explained was an "eco washed organic denim pants," for about $1200 (R20 500).

The Italian fashion house stated the design was for its grunge-inspired fall/winter 2020 collection and was made from organic cotton.

"This denim overall is crafted from organic cotton, specifically treated for a stained-like, distressed effect. It is produced through cultivation and manufacturing processes that don’t involve harmful chemicals, pesticides or artificial fertilizers," read a post on Gucci's website.

There were also overalls that came with the latest collection which cost much more than the jeans.

Social media fans were however not happy with the design, slamming the fashion line for the new releases and also the crazy prices.

One claimed this was meant for rich kids who desire to look dirty but at the same time hate dirt.

In other news, Dr Zweli Mkhize and the Ministry of Health took part int he viral Jerusalema challenge on Thursday to celebrate Heritage Day. This follows calls from President Cyril Ramaphosa on South Africans to unite during these troubling times.

Mkhize and his team showed off their dance moves on Master KG's hit song in a field and they not only perfected it, but also managed to still practice lockdown regulations.

At one point the video, a lady sanitises her hands before they bust a move while still maintaining the proper social distance from each other. Mkhize posted a link to the video on his Twitter page, writing:

"The Ministry of Health has accepted President Cyril Ramaphosa's challenge to participate in the #JerusalemaChallenge! Happy #HeritageDay South Africa!"
