- Pearl Thusi commented on a post about Khanyi Mbau's recently deceased father that left fans less than impressed
- Pearl defended her word choice by telling Insta peeps that she knows Khanyi personally and spoke to her privately
- Commenters were not deterred and accused Pearl of trying to be the centre of attention
Actress Pearl Thusi was under fire in the comments section of a post that Khanyi Mbau made about her father.
Pearl commented on the post, which was of Khanyi's recently deceased dad and details of his memorial, with a simple "Hectic." This clearly did not sit well with Mbau's fans, as the onslaught of responses came rapidly and fiercely.
Many online users demanded Pearl delete her comment, some asked what her thoughts behind using the word "hectic" even was, but most told her it was inappropriate.
The celeb has yet to delete her comment from Khanyi's post which, at last count, had over 120 direct responses to it. Most taking issue with the word "hectic" itself.
Pearl eventually clapped back at the insta users, saying that she had spoken to Khanyi in an interview a few weeks prior in which they spoke of her father "quite intensely". Pearl continued her defence and ended with "... she knows what we’ve discussed. But you can all carry on..."
The clapback did not appear to do much good, with more replies flooding in and telling Pearl she was making herself the centre of a story that did not involve her. Grief is a tough topic for almost everybody and so there will always be contrasting opinions.
This did not stop Pearl from following up with, "“I have Khanyi’s number. I don’t need to perform for you here.” Pearl was trying to imply that her comment was justified but fans weren't convinced.
According to ZAlebs.com there was a particularly vocal fan who commented:
“why do you always have to relate to everything everyone posts shuuu be it achievements or what something sad wena you always have to add your own experiences khona khona lapho. Sorry for your loss but this is not about you write your own post and we shall send you condolences accordingly manje we still comforting uKhanyisile”.
In more positive Pearl-related news, Briefly.co.za recently reported on a cute moment that the actress shared with her daughters that involved doing their hair.
Pearl's eldest daughter, Thando, styled her younger sister's hair and the captured moment was just too cute.
