Vhudie is making sure to ride the wave of his recent success. The former Idols SA contestant recently took to social media to appeal to rapper Kwesta to feature on the My Yoki Yoki remix.
Vhudie did not make it too far on the popular singing show, however, his own composition titled My Yoki Yoki was a huge success with Mzansi audiences. The composer recently released the song as an official single.
Striking while the iron was still hot, Vhudie then led a social media campaign to appeal to Kwesta to hop onto the remix of the song. Social media users helped him by tagging Kwesta until he saw it.
Kwesta agreed to doing the remix because he too liked My Yoki Yoki and he added that he could see Vhudie has a "good heart".
"Akubenjalo (let it be so)! I just have to finish off a couple other features and then we on. Loved that Idols audition. Plus ngathi unenhliziyo enhle so nginawe (I think you have a good heart), so I'm with you."
Social media users were excited by the response and the upcoming collaboration. Twitter user Cellular_ZA said:
"All the best to the project!"
"My throat hurts now after reading this long tweet in Kwesta's voice but I am happy for VhudieOfficial at the same time..."
"Yaz I think I already know Kwesta's verse on this remix."
"Positive vibes only."
"I just love it when black brothers unite for that isinkwa. Let's prosper my niggas. Jealousy must just end. Let's pick each other UP and UP!"
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Vhudie has come a long way from impressing the masses at his first Idols SA audition. The singer and composer has now released his first official single, My Yoki Yoki, and Mzansi is loving it.
The Venda singer stole Mzansi's hearts when he performed the song at his audition for the singing competition. Although he was booted off the show in the second round, he managed to make a name for himself and build his career profile.
Releasing his single on the same day as Cassper Nyovest's album drop was a risky move but it seems to have paid off. The artist is currently trending on Twitter alongside Nyovest as South Africans enjoy the beautiful song.
